Elix technology for lower running costs and consistent high water quality


  • The global water production costs are reduced thanks to reject water recycling and the usage of the patented Elix (electro deionization) technology developed by Millipore.
  • The Elix technology combines ions selective membranes, ion-exchange resins and an electric field.
  • The Elix module inside the Milli-Q Integral system is a like a DI (deionization) resin permanently regenerated by a weak electric current, producing water with high resistivity (minimum 5 MΩ. cm @ 25°C; typically 10 to 15 MΩ. cm @ 25°C) and TOC below 50 ppb.
  • A consistent water quality over years of operation ensures by the permanent and gentle regeneration of ion exchange resins by an electrical current minimizes the operating costs and eliminates the resin beads damages that occur during the traditional regeneration process by strong acids and bases.
