Millipore - Flow Cytometry easyCyte 8HT

From core lab, to your lab.

Imagine running your most complex assays right on your bench top. No core labs. No outside expertise necessary. With Millipore's integrated instruments, assay kits, software and service, you have the end-to-end solution that makes it easy. Introducing the latest easyCyte HT flow cytometry systems. These systems represents the latest innovation in Millipore's end-to-end flow cytometry workflow solution from the same thought leaders who created the world's first commercial bench top flow cytometer.

NEW guava easyCyte HT family of flow cytometers...

The new easyCyte HT family of flow cytometers from millipore provide powerful cellular anlaysis capabilities that are customizable to your research needs. Depending on the budget and research scope users can select the easyCyte 5HT or easyCyte 6HT for single laser excitation (blue laser) and 3 color or 4 color detection, respectively. For research requiring dual laser excitation (blue laser and red laser), users can select the easyCyte 6HT/2L or easyCyte 8HT systems with 4 color and 6 color detection, respectively. Each system includes forward scatter and side scatter, for size and complexity analysis of the samples, and is compatible with popular fluorochromes and fluorescent proteins. High throughput analysis is made possible with a robotic sample tray that automatically handles a 96-well microplate and up to 10 sample tubes. Each system includes the patented microcapillary technology that allows for NO SHEATH FLUID and extremely small sample and waste volumes. These systems also include our new InCyte software.

Principle of flow cytometry

A beam of light (usually laser light) of a single wavelength is directed onto a hydro-dynamically focused stream of fluid. A number of detectors are aimed at the point where the stream passes through the light beam, one in line with the light beam (forward scatter or FSC), and several perpendicular to it (side scatter or SSC), and one or more fluorescent detectors. Each suspended particle from 0.2 to 150 m that passes through the beam scatters the light in some way. Fluorescent chemicals found in the particle or attached to it may be excited into emitting light at a higher wavelength than the light source. This combination of scattered and fluorescent light is picked up by the detectors.

Microcapillary Flow Cytometry

The technology behind it all
At the heart of every Guava system is a unique, microcapillary flow cell that eliminates the need for sheath fluid. This translates into smaller samples, less reagents, and minimal waste, saving you both time and money. Plus, since the flow cell is self-aligning and user-replaceable, you can remove it yourself at any time for cleaning and maintenance: no more expense or downtime for service visits. And, by eliminating complicated fluidics, we've created a tiny instrument footprint that fits into the tightest spots, saving valuable laboratory space.
  • No laser alignment or sheath fluid required
  • Uses smaller sample volumes and generates less waste than traditional systems
  • Flow cell is user replaceable for minimal downtime
  • High-pressure purge available for removing obstructions in flow cell
  • Aspirates sample directly from tube

Kits and Reagents

Whether you're studying cancer, stem cells, immune function, or some other frontier of cell biology, you'll quickly be an expert cell analyst using Millipore's assay kits that are designed and optomized for use with guava systems. We've taken the guesswork out of assay development so you can focus on your results. All you need are cells and a research question; our assay kits will do the rest, and you'll have data before your cells are ready to split again.

Service & Support

Extend the life of your instrument with a Millipore Service Plan! Our one- and two-year plans begin when your initial one-year warranty ends. These plans cover all preventative maintenance and repairs as well as technical support and software upgrades. Speak with your field service engineer to learn how to decrease the risk of downtime with one of our service plans.

Our friendly, well-informed technical service team has the answers you need for your cell biology questions and concerns. For questions that require more detailed explanations, we even offer specialized on-site or web-based training sessions.
