Congratulations to Pediatric Nursing!

Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago recently earned another distinction when 30 pediatric nurses received certification from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). The achievement means that each nurse sat for a national certification exam and met high national standards for expertise in pediatric care.

“It proved once again that the nurses here at Comer Children’s Hospital are excellent pediatric nurses and knowledgeable about their practice,” said Carmen Del Cid, RN, CPN, clinical nurse educator for general and multispecialty pediatrics. “I was so proud of all of them.”

Ninety-four percent of the Comer Children’s Hospital nurses who took the exam passed it and received PNCB board certification. This exceeds the national average passing rate of 85 percent identified by the PNCB board.
